Evanston: you can never hold back spring
Evanston: you can never hold back spring
They cut down this tree a half block away from our condo, but the tree isn’t having any.
Yesterday Evanston reached 88ºF/31ºC. Today is sunny and in the 70sF. Tomorrow will not be nearly as warm. But I like to believe that winter is over. Grass and leaves are appearing. A gray world is turning green. Local sailors are putting their boats back in the water. I performed the annual water-sealing of our small deck. And I pumped up tires and went for my first flatland bike ride of the year.
My condo bicycle is different from my GANNET bike. Here I have 21 speeds--of which 20 remain unused--thin tires, hand brakes. GANNET’s is fat tired, higher handled, one speed, with foot brakes.
