I watched the Red Sox/Baltimore game last night until the rain delay, when I went to bed with the Sox leading by a run, and Tampa Bay losing to the Yankees by six or seven. When I woke this morning, I was surprised but not dismayed by the results. I am a vestigial Red Sox fan and I’d like them to win, but only if they deserve to. They didn’t. Tampa Bay did what they needed to; as did Saint Louis in the National League.
I’m looking forward to the Sox-less playoffs.

I walked down to the lake this morning.
Two sailboats were making their way north, presumably to Larsen’s or Skipper Bud’s for winter storage.
I assume their crews were aware they were racing a cold front due this afternoon, with gale force winds that may produce 14’ waves on the lake.
