Evanston: unfulfillable desire; palpable ignorance
One of the earliest entries in this journal, dating back to September 2006, is headed, “unfulfillable desire.” The documentary film, EVERY LITTLE STEP, provides additional corroboration. The film is very well done, very entertaining, and somewhat cannibalistic, being about dancers trying out for parts in the chorus line of a Broadway revival of A CHORUS LINE, which is of course about dancers trying out for parts in a chorus line.
The underlying theme of all of these chorus lines is unfulfillable desire.
I enjoyed EVERY LITTLE STEP enough to put the film of the original Broadway show in our Netflix queue to watch again.

While searching the Internet for something else, I happened upon the following in a discussion of what constituters a blue water boat, i.e. one that can cross oceans: ”38 foot is not blue water for the simple fact that you cant carry enough water, fuel, dinghy, outboard, liferaft and all the other stuff that is a must and still be able to walk on deck. It will not be enjoyable lets put it that way, another 10 feet makes all the difference.”
So it turns out I have never owned a blue water boat.
At least I’m in good company. Neither did Joshua Slocum.

I walked down to the lake today and back through the cemetery, where I found animal tracks in the fresh snow.
