Evanston: viola d’amore
Evanston: viola d’amore
Most classical music album covers are pretty much the same.
This one isn’t. Obviously.
I was flipping through a magazine about recently released classical recordings when it stopped me.
Googling I learned that Helene Plouffe is Canadian; and that the viola d’amore is an instrument, usually with fourteen strings, played beneath the chin, as are its near relations the violin and the viola.
Going to iTunes I saw that the album includes pieces by Telemann, Bach, von Biber, and three others whose work I did not know.
I bought it for the originality of the cover.
If you enjoy Baroque, the music is good, too.
