Opua: apocalypse and a duck
Opua: apocalypse and a duck
Although today has been mostly sunny, we have had enough rain the past few days in passing showers so that THE HAWKE OF TUONELA’s leaks have reappeared.
I was able to see last evening precisely where two drips were coming in from around the fireplace chimney; but today, as ever, could not find the sources on deck.
Showers are predicted for the next several days. I will have ample opportunity for further study.
Halfway on my row back to THE HAWKE OF TUONELA this morning I passed a duck, loitering around an unoccupied boat on another mooring. Hopefully the duck followed me, paddling faster when I sped up, slowing when I slowed.
His, or her, hopes were in vain. I don’t want ducks to start thinking of THE HAWKE OF TUONELA as a good place to hang out.
I finished the first draft of my circumnavigation analysis article. It is twice as long as usual, so perhaps a two-part piece.
In addition to the company of ducks, one of the many pleasures of living on a boat is that beauty is often only a step away.
I glanced out the companionway the other evening and saw the full moon moving behind clouds. Reaching for my camera, I took several quick shots. I like this apocalyptic one best.
