Evanston: before the plague
Evanston: before the plague
I am writing this just after noon on a perfect day. Sunny; a few scattered high clouds; just enough breeze to sway tree limbs; temperature around 80º.
Reportedly this is the lull before cacophony. Cicadas dormant for 17 years are due to awaken and live their brief loud lives later this month. Outdoor performances of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra have been rescheduled. Lawns are said to seem alive. It may be an experience.
