THE HAWKE OF TUONELA is the same length, 37’, as EGREGIOUS and almost the same age. I was rounding Cape Horn for the first time when she was launched thousands of miles to the north in Florida in December 1975. These photos were taken off Boston in 1995.
When I bought her in 1993,
she was on Lake Champlain,
New Hampshire. By the time I sold her in 2012 in order to concentrate on sailing GANNET, she had sailed around the world a time
and a half.
